Does anyone know how to get a copy of a form FS-240 a Consular Report of Birth for a child born on foreign soil of a US father in military service in Australia in 1944?

Can't thank you enough, Gary. If you have a need or interest, I have a number of very specific Australian genealogy websites and lists of websites as well as addresses for areas within the Australian Archives--all free of charge.

The information provided at this websit needs a few little corrections. The cost for the service is actually $30.00 and when you send the information to the Passport Services division of the US State Department, you must also include a notarized copy of your photo ID--state driver's license or other type. This information is accurate as of March 1, 2008. The records can be accessed by going to:

USA.gov and going to A-Z services; then clicking on passports.
