Hi. I am trying to trace my heritage back to my great, great grandmother who was full blooded souix indian. my mother doesn't know the names of my great grandparents on my grandfathers side. He was born in 1887 in Indiana and birth certificates were not required until 1900. The only information I have been able to find is his mothers first name as she remarried and I have no idea what her maiden name was. I have my grandfathers ss# and date of birth, city & state where he was born and an approx year when my great grandmother was born. I also do not know if the souix line is maternal or paternal to my great grandparents. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
