I have been searching for my girl I gave up for adoption back in 1986 and can not find a single thing out. I tried birth records, adoption search etc. no results. Is it possible to look up hospital records or my medical records from my doctor? I have not been able to find anything useful. I only have her date of birth, where she was born and that's it. No name, no adoption agency/lawyer name or date of her adoption. Confused

Have you tried the search at http://adoptionrecords.org/search.html ?

It's a long shot, but maybe they've documented it.

Also, for lawman - that site looks good, they have a very comprehensive records directory.

Something I've put together recently is a free public records "search wizard", being as the average person (not a PI or otherwise professional researcher) doesn't know WHERE to find information, such as court records or inmate rosters.

I'm biased, but I think it offers more than some pay-sites do in terms of actually helping the visitor find what they want.

The site is at SnoopStation.com (in beta currently), and the live link is in my sig, as per forum rules.

Any feedback, suggestions, constructive criticisms and so on would be appreciated.

And now my 2 cents, without investigators like lawman that have the ability to think outside the box and put the human element into an investigation we’re left with too many investigators that have become computer dependent information providers and too many clients who are willing to accept without question for what may very well be outdated or incomplete information.

I still shake my head in disbelief that anyone would hire an employee for a meaningful job using a $49 +- background check and maybe a phone call or so to a listed reference or doing business, investing money, marrying someone with an unknown past using an online information service or computer investigation etc.

I still feel there’s a need for old fashion grunt work, knocking on doors, talking to people and an in-person examination of court records, files and documents. A savvy investigator should be able to look at a document, court file or police report and comprehend what’s in the report and equally important what’s not.

Personally I would outraged to find out I paid someone only to have a minimum wages part time employee conducting my investigation online in between shopping online and chat rooms or a inexperienced trainee snapping photos of an accident scene, guesstimating measurements, failing to recognize physical evidence or street defects or talking on the cell phone instead of paying attention during an surveillance or erroneously charging for multi attempts to serve a paper.

Ok I’m off my soap box and becoming a dinosaur, I would be interest in reading other opinions. And no I’m not President of the California chapter of lawman confidential's fan club however he did send me a free lawman 411 T-shirt.
