I received a letter from the irs, my name and address but not my SS#. It seems that someone filed a 1040 for tax period 2007 using my name. Is there a way for me to match the social security number with its rightful owner. anyone's help is greatly appreciated the number given is 57627xxxx

Sorry no free way of matching the SS # on this forum.
I suggest you contact IRS and let them resolve the problem.
