Here is your answer to "how can I access criminal records?"

It is from the government and you can get bankruptcy records, criminal, civil courts, etc...0.08 cents a page.

I have found it, over the years, to be quite good.

It is very easy to set up an account and you do not need to be a P.I. or licensed even.

Here is the registration page -

https://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/psco/cgi-bin/register.pl

PACER stands for Public Access to Court Electronic Records

I KNOW all of you will find this site EXTREMELY useful!!

Best regards, Melanie Very Happy

Have you tried calling or going online to the county clerk of the courts? Most all court cases are public record. (they may keep some information out due to the Privacy Laws)) If he has been in trouble before; and you know where, look it up on the county clerks site. Depending on the size of the county, there may be a Civil Clerk of the Court and a Criminal Clerk of the Court. If they don't make their documents available on line, mail them a request for what you want, or call and some one will be able to look up his information and tell you exactly what to request. I don't know where you are in Louisiana, so I am including a link for the Eastern District of Louisiana which explains the Freedom of Information Act. (should it apply to your situation) You can use this site as a "sample". Also, as Privateye 2500 mentioned, PACER is an excellent site. You can use the search tool to search by name and find out if there have been OR are any court dates, it gives attorney information, etc..

lissa, Bullet is absolutely right, use Detective Forums search tools as pacer has been discussed in the past. A check of your post history shows the "search tool" and reading prior post by lawman was suggested in other matters. I assume you're researching a federal case, nevertheless below find copy of a prior post addressing a misunderstanding re- pacer.

You may want to explain pacer’s for federal courts not State or County.

I received more than one inquiry questioning information posted in this thread specifically the type of jurisdictional cases available from pacer.
The confusion involved a misunderstanding re- federal vs. State and County. To clarify this matter I contacted pacer and received the following response “PACER only provides access to Federal cases” also the United States district courts are the trial courts of the federal court system.

If members have any additional question read pacer FAQ at http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/faq.html also use Detective Forums search tool as information about pacer has been asked before.

p.s. I have used pacer and it sure beats a trip to the federal court.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I didn't realize Pacer was only for Federal cases. I'm new at all of this but hopefully will learn.

You said: (para phrase) " you have all info and stuff like that"
Is that to say you know the charges and what he is being held for/on ??... But your main concern is about getting the 12k!! So since you have an Attorney CALL HIM/HER you have him/her pull your file HE CAN , SHOULD & MOST LIKELY WILL UN LESS YOUR TRYING TO PROVE THIS GUY AN UNFIT PARENT FOR A CUSTODY MATTER! THE REST OF THAT STUFF "IS MOOT! BECAUSE YOUR CHIEF CONCERN AS YOU STATED IS THE 12 LARGE..YOU SAY HE OWES YOU ! SO **I'M NOT AN ATTORNEY..But I am a FORENSIC (official, legal, court forensic notary paralegal) INTELLIGENCE & INVESTIGATIVE STRATEGIST ( I utilize my Investigative skills &understanding ,training & work experience & certifications in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement & Public Safety in conjunction with my authority as an appointed state official as a defacto officer of the court ! & provide my forensic services TO Attorneys
So if your Attorney asked me
I WOULD WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH PER MONTH,AS IN HOW MANY PAYMENTS DID HE MISS? SO EVEN AT 2K A MONTH THAT IS 6 PAYMENTS!! SO A MOTION FOR CONTEMPT
SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN FILED AND THIS DO DAH SHOULD ALREADY BEEN IN COURT AND THE JUDGE COULD HAVE MODIFIED HIS PAYMENTS BASED ON HIM SHOWING A LACK OF INCOME! ETC.
BOTTOM LINE YOUR LAWYER HAS TO GET A CAPIAS ISSUED SIGNED BY THE JUDGE AS AN ORDER OF CONTEMPT ! LIKE ON T.V. WHEN THE JUDGE TELLS AL PACINO "YOUR IN CONTEMPT!"WELL WHEN YOUR HUSBAND OR ANY ONE SHOWS AN OBVIOUS ,BLATANT INTENT TO COMPLETELY DIS REGARD A JUDGES I.E.: "THE COURT" WELL THAN IF HE DIDN'T PAY YOU FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS ,I'M SURE IS AROUND 9-12 MONTHS IN LA. $$ SO WHILE YOU GOT THE BUM IN LOCK -UP YOU WANT HIM TO GET SERVED WITH WHAT IS CALLED A " CA PIOUS"OR A CIVIL ARREST WARRANT ,WHICH WHAT WE DO & IT SUCKS TO BE THIS DUDE! ( YOUR LAWYER,YOU< THE STATE OR COUNTY IF YOU USED PUBLIC ASSISTANCE OR A FAMILY SUPPORT SOCIAL WORKER WILL PETITION THE THE JUDGE WHO CAN ORDER A CASH BOND MEANING HE HAS TO COME UP WITH THE FULL 12 k & I HAVE SEEN IT PLAYED WHERE WE WOULD GET SOME REAL SH*T HEAD! AND HAVE HIM POST A 10% SURETY BOND PUTTING UP 10% FOR SAY 10K BOND OR 1K THE DUDE CAN ALMOST TASTE THE CRACK,METH,1ST SHOT, OR WARM DOPE RUSH (JUST BECAUSE MOST 80% OF OFFENDERS /RECIDIVISTS STATISTICALLY HAVE AN UNDERLYING ADDICTION
WHACK ! LIKE A B**CH SLAP FROM THE LADY OF JUSTICE ,WE TELL THE GUY OK COOL WE ARE RELEASING YOU.. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK CLICK! CLICK! OK LETS GO YOUR RELEASED TO ME TO TAKE YOU TO WHERE EVER! AS FAR AS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR TANGIBLES TO EITHER PROVE HE HAD MONEY, SOME SERIOUS "BLING" IN HIS PROPERTY YOUR LAWYER'S INVESTIGATOR OR PARA LEGAL COULD CALL THE JAIL AND ASK FOR HIS PROPERTY INVENTORY BOOKING SLIP! IF YOU WANT TO FIND OUT ABOUT OTHER ASSETS , THE BEST WAY IS STILL TO HIT HIM OFF! WITH THE CASH BOND...WHAT I HAVE SEEN HAPPEN TOO THAT SUCKS IS LOT'S OF TIMES THIS SKELLS WHO HAVE 5 8 I HAVE SEEN SOME SCUM BAGS FROM A GROUP OF "ONLY 5%" WHO ARE ENCOURAGED TO SPREAD THEIR SEED!" WITH UP TO 17 KIDS!
DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR BEING CAREER CRIMINALS ! BUT YOU WILL SEE SOME POOR GUY WHO LOST EVERYTHING IN THEIR DIVORCE & THE GUY'S JOB HE HAD FOR LIKE 28 YEARS GETS OUT SOURCED TO SIAM OR BOPHAL! AND THE GUY GETS PINCHED FOR BEING A COUPLE MONTHS LATE!
GOOD LUCK LET US KNOW HOW YOU MAKE OUT!!

Hey Lawman, good useful info in your post. However I'm confused with "PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK CLICK! CLICK!" I took out my old cuffs and can't get them click. Wink

I also joined this site and can't find what I want. My ex owes me well over 30k and I have his name and ss# no address on him. I think the last time I was able to have in arrested was in 1999 and still nothing was done. I know of States he has lived in and I do have a pic from last year I took off his sisters facebook. I know he has been here in KY but his family tells me they haven't heard from him. My son is now 21 and this money could sure help send him to College. Any help or suggestions would be great and not cost an arm and a leg to do. Thank You
